Sex and the City – The Movie (Full Screen Edition)
Sex and the City - The Movie (Full Screen Edition)
For too long, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) had been looking for love in all the wrong places . . . but in all the right shoes. In this much anticipated movie event, Carrie, Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) are back, four years after the hit TV series ended. As they continue to juggle career, relationships, motherhood and life in Manhattan, the girls realize that more than ever, true friendship never goes out of style.

As light and frothy as the Vivienne Westwood wedding gown that’s an unofficial fifth star, the film version of Sex and the City is both captivatingly stylish and sweetly sentimental. Viewers who loved hanging with Carrie Bradshaw and her three pals during the series’ TV run will feel as though no time has passed. Except that it has: Carrie and Big are poised to make a Big Commitment; Miranda and Steve are facing the breakup of their wonderful family; Charlotte and Harry have added to their brood; and Samantha (are we sitting down?) has been devoted to hunky Smith for five full years. Still, in all that time, the women’s style, conviviality, and appetite for bons mots have only grown. When practical attorney Miranda learns that Carrie is considering moving in with Big (in possibly the coolest apartment in Manhattan), she can’t help but frown in that but-you-might-lose-everything way. Carrie’s retort: “For once, can’t you feel what I want you to feel–jealous?!” The cast is spot-on, as always. Sarah Jessica Parker is effortless as the angst-ridden yet practical, stylish yet vulnerable Carrie. Kim Cattrall is deliciously decadent as Samantha, but she’s wiser now and knows herself and her needs for a real relationship. Kristin Davis, as Charlotte, has quietly become the most gorgeous among the beauties, her sleek presence both winsome and sophisticated. And Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) shows nuance as a woman torn between betrayal and grudging hope. Supporting roles include Candice Bergen as the Vogue editor who anoints Carrie “The Last Single Girl in New York,” and Jennifer Hudson, as a starry-eyed, ambitious romantic who represents the new generation of SATC women. Through it all, New York is a benevolent cocoon that envelopes and nurtures the women and their friendships and careers. No matter that none of them appears to have any semblance of “real” family; as long as they have each other, and Manhattan, all will be right with their world. –A.T. Hurley

Hijra Fashion Show All India Hijda Sammelan Mumbai

Hijra Fashion Show All India Hijda Sammelan Mumbai
These are old pictures I shot at the All India Hijra Sammelan at Park Site Vikhroli that I am refreshing with text and title , these are my earliest images of hijras , my hijra photography in the right sense began here thanks to Ma Madhurima Baby Hijra Guru and late Nayak Ragini who allowed me to shoot this event albeit I was dressed as a Sadhi in saffron clothes .

I shot a lot of images and came back the next day too, but the event was canceled due to some local controversy..but I had made a lot of friends and a few enemies too, understandable as those days the hijras did not know me so well and it was much later that Laxmi Narayan Tripathi became my Hijra Guru.

I met Babita Gopal Haji and Mona the child eunuch..and its been a very long journey for me …

However I must reiterate I amuch closer to the Delhi hijras because of the patronage of Gopal Haji the Nayak and his Hijra biradri.

I hit off very well with Priya Hija from Singapore but we never met after the All India Hijda Sammelan.. most of the Indian hijras were jealousy of her oomph factor and her sexuality that melted poets like me too..

Barbie Presents Thumbelina

Barbie knows that even the smallest person can make a difference in the world, so when she leads a group of young children on a tree planting expedition in a nature preserve, she makes sure that each child knows that his or her action is important and meaningful. To illustrate her point, Barbie tells the kids the story of a young Twillerbee named Thumbelina who vowed to save her people and their world from destruction in spite of enormous odds. When humans Evan and Vanessa decide to raze an extensive flower field to build a new factory, their spoiled daughter Makena demands a patch of the flowers be brought home in hopes of impressing her equally spoiled friend Violet. Twillerbees Thumbelina, Janessa, and Chrysella, who live in the field with hundreds of other Twillerbees, are accidentally transported with the flowers. Before they can escape and return home, the three discover the plan to destroy their field. Thumbelina resolves to stop the destruction of the fi! eld by appealing to Makena and her parents while Janessa and Chrysella return home with plans to sabotage the demolition equipment and delay groundbreaking. Makena is initially uncooperative, but Thumbelina’s heartfelt appeal and her genuine offer of friendship eventually persuade Makena to try to convince her parents to halt construction. Can one small girl and one tiny Twillerbee possibly save the Twillerbees and their habitat? Perhaps anything is possible if you believe. (Ages 3 and older) –Tami Horiuchi
